Bull Terrier Past – SECBTC Open Show

I thought I’d throw something new into the mix, but at the same time something that used to be quite popular from the old Bull Terrier Monthly magazine – looking at Bull Terrier past. This used to entail the odd ‘mystery dog’ here and there – and I have already included a few of those in this new format – but in addition to the mystery dogs I also used to feature the odd old show report or judging critique, full of names that people may find very distantly in their own dogs pedigree.

The first one I’ve chosen is an Open Show critique from the South Eastern Counties Bull Terrier Club, and the judge on the day was none other than Mr Terry Hylands. What I don’t know however is what year this Show took place – so maybe a little task for you there. Going by the names and affixes mentioned in the critique, it is obviously from quite some time ago, a good 30 years I would think?

But anyway you might find it interesting, and if you can follow your own dogs’ family tree back far enough – you never know, one of his or her distant ancestors just might be mentioned!
